Blonde Furniture formed as a studio project in 1983 in Jewett City, CT. Singer/songwriter, Bill Dumas, got together long-time music collaborators, guitarist, Tim Stawarz, bass player, Bill Quinn and engineer, Shamus Quinn (and special guests, Hugh Birdsall of the Reducers and Ken Nash of New Johnny 5) to put down some original songs on vinyl before leaving rock & roll music behind and heading for new adventures in the world of jazz.

     But that departure would never materialize as Bill expanded this record release into a full blown record label: Vinyl Siding Records. Within the next several years VSR produced and released The Towers of New London Vol. I&II compilations. A total of nine releases filled the catalogue including John Cale-produced, Made For TV, The Whales, Stark Weather, Free World and Another Day.

     VRS became inactive as the CD revolution replaced vinyl. In 1990 Bill became a Fellow at The American Film Institute in Los Angeles and received his MFA in screenwriting in 1992. Although still a resident of LA, Bill spends several weeks a year in the New London area.

     Blonde Furniture remained a studio project until 2007 when the live band debuted at the Bank St. Cafe in New London. Original members, Bill Quinn and Tim Stawarz were joined by percussionist/singer Chris MacKay and Sue MacKay on accordion.

     More recently Ludent Tremmel (Stark Weather, Gno, Enos Eros) has replaced Tim Stawarz on guitar.

     Blonde Furniture occasionally performs at such New London venues as Hygienic Art Park, 33 Golden St.. Oasis Cafe, Bank St. Cafe and the Bean & Leaf.

     Bill performs the Blonde Furniture repertoire in Los Angeles accompanied by guitarists Ruben Ramos and Matt Jansky.  They have performed sets at the Whisky a Go Go, Rainbow Room, Pig ‘n’ Whistle, Kulak’s Woodshed among other LA venues.
